Star Ocean: The Last Hope International review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Star Ocean: The Last Hope International for Sony PlayStation 3. Well, we kinda knew how Star Ocean was ending, and that you couldn't really go PAST that point... So let's go to the extreme opposite end of the timeline, centuries before the events of the previous games, where mankind first reaches out to the stars... and learns of giant, bullet-deflecting space bugs, flips the (expletive) out, gets rescued by aliens, and leaves a guy named EDGE MAVERICK in charge of the Calnus. Seriously. Mike, Crow, and Tom couldn't come up with a better name. Oh, and it's a decent game, too! Especially if you like Motoi Sakuraba going all Paul-Shaffer-on-a-bender with the organ. This video review features video gameplay footage of Star Ocean: The Last Hope International for PS3 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's TJ.

Shining Force III review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Shining Force 3 for Sega Saturn. Here it is: One of the holy grails of tactical RPGs. Sure, the low-poly 3D looks kinda ridiculous today. Sure, the voice acting is enough to make a Palace Guard chuckle. But at the heart of it beats a strategy experience that singlehandedly justified my purchase of a Saturn: A tale of political intrigue, deception, manipulation, tomb robbing, train chases, and generally interesting subterfuge that encapsulates fantastic game mechanics and boasts an impressive Motoi Sakuraba soundtrack. This video review features video gameplay footage of Shining Force III for Saturn and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's TJ.

Rakkautta & Anarkiaa -elokuvafestivaalin syksyn 2010 yleisöäänestyksen voittaja! Lähitulevaisuudessa virtuaaliyhteisö OZ on antanut kaikille mahdollisuuden päästä nettiin mistä ja milloin tahansa. Käyttäjät kontrolloivat avatariaan OZ:issa shoppailuun, laskujen maksamiseen ja hauskanpitoon. Kenji, tavallinen lukiolaispoika, viettää kesälomansa joutilaana työskennellen osa-aikaisena OZ:n ylläpitäjänä. Mutta sitten hänen unelmiensa tyttö, Natsuki, kutsuu hänet kotikyläänsä Naganoon! Kun he saapuvat perille, Kenjin hämmästykseksi Natsuki pyytää häntä esiintymään sulhasenaan jotta tytön vanha isoäiti olisi onnellinen. "Koko suku auttaa oman jäsenensä aiheuttaman ongelman ratkaisemisessa!" Natsukin isoäiti antaa käskyn, ja Kenji, Natsuki ja hänen sukulaisensa ryhtyvät yhteisvoimin yrittämään pelastaa maailma!

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Star Ocean: Till the End of Time for Sony PlayStation 2. Yeah. Top one weird ending ever. We waited all that time for this? Well, for the explanation and insight it offers into the Star Ocean universe, Till the End of Time will forever have a place. The combat's a bit dicey, the item creation's a bit dicey, the plot gets REAL dicey... but it ties together the previous games in the series and makes the whole thing work. Somewhat. This video review features video gameplay footage of Star Ocean: Till the End of Time for PS2 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's TJ.

Star Ocean review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Star Ocean for Super Famicom developed by tri-Ace and published by Enix. Let's face it. There were lots of Super Famicom RPGs we never got. This was one of those that everyone seemed to notice, though. (Probably because our introduction to Star Ocean was called "The Second Story," funny enough.) Now, you know why: tri-Ace were out to make a name for themselves, and they put everything they had (including part of Motoi Sakuraba's soul) into crafting a stellar swords-and-sorcery-and-space-travel RPG, establishing the Star Ocean trademarks like Private Actions, active combat, skill development, and item creation. This video review features video gameplay footage of Star Ocean for Super Famicom and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's TJ.
