Apple visionary Steve Jobs has passed away after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 56.
Fox News had this to say:
“Steve Jobs led this company from really a floundering organization into one of the most powerful companies in all the world. He took Apple to a company through which millions and hundreds of millions of people around the world communicate.”
A CNN anchor says Jobs made Apple what it is -- in his signature style.
“The reason Apple was so exceptional and those products were so exceptional and loved was he showed up with that black turtleneck, and he had groupies.”
It didn’t take long for social media users to react to the news; with some, no doubt, using the devices Jobs pioneered to mourn his death.
Word of Jobs’ death had become a Trending Topic on Twitter less than 10 minutes after the first news trickled in.
Apple released an official statement on Jobs' death. The Wall Street Journal has it:
"Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. "The world is immeasurably better because of Steve."
But on its website, it chose a different way to commemorate Jobs’ legacy-- a black and white photograph of Jobs in his trademark turtleneck.
