Brett Evans is a guy who likes to build cars that look cool and go fast. You may recognize him from the "Splitter" 1970 Trans Am build on V8TV. Before that car, he built this killer 427 small block turbocharged ’65 Mustang Fastback.

In this special three-part V8TV presentation, we traveled to Nashville Tennessee to cover the first annual Run To Music City pro touring event presented by Carbon Kustoms. The Run To Music City (RTMC) combines a spirited driving cruise, autocross racing, high-speed driving, and car show events with tours of Advanced Plating, Greening Auto Company, and Hydratech breaking. It's a great event for people who like to drive their cars in high-performance situations and have great friends along for the ride!

This is the first video in the series covering the build of the 1969 Mustang BOSS 302.0. This Pro-Touring style Mustang delivers late-model power and performance, while keeping the classic 1969 Mustang's appearance. To achieve this, the V8TV crew called upon Steinhauser Design to create the rendering to highlight the specific pieces and overall design. Components include a carbon fiber dash, hood, bumpers, rear deck, and quarter extensions from Anvil Auto. A complete Detroit Speed & Engineering Aluma-Frame front suspension system and rear QUADRALink , Forgeline wheels, and Toyo tires will make the car stick to the road. The BOSS 302.0 is powered by a new Ford Coyote 5.0 V-8 engine and a five speed manual transmission, and a Currie 9-inch rear end. Restoration pieces from CJ Pony Parts will make the car look fresh and crisp. In this chapter, the V8 Speed & Resto crew extracts the car from a barn and begins the transformation.
"Thundertaker" is a 1960 Cadillac hearse built by Fuller Hot Rods, a car spanning over 22 feet long and loaded with Caddy style and comfort. The custom body mods are too numerous to list, but in this video, V8TV's Kelle Oeste chats with Brian Fuller about this super-sized sled.

Our buddy Shafi Keisler caught up with Bill Jelinek at the Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals show in Rosemont, IL, for the tour of this trick Chevelle. It features a new GM LSA supercharged engine, TCI 4L80E transmission, Detroit Speed suspension, and about a million other cool parts. GM Performance Parts recently unveiled the first C.A.R.B. certified, EPA Emissions legal late-model engine swap for hot rods and muscle cars. We talked with Bill Martens about what the E-ROD kit consists of, and how GM was able to make this 430 HP LS3-based engine package be cool with Johnny Law. The key is the completeness of the kit, which comes with everything from the engine to the catalytic converters, vapor canister, and a special calibration in the ECM. That's right, over 20 mpg, catalytic converters for clean air, and 430 legal horsepower.
Back in 1967, Felix Lopez bought a 1967 Chevrolet RS/SS Camaro from Nickey Chevrolet in Chicago, featuring a high-performance 427 with a 4-speed and 3 2-barrel carbs. Amazingly, he still owns and shows the car today. What's perhaps more amazing is that Lopez served an 8-year tour in the Viet Nam War, making him and his Nickey Camaro great examples of what we call "Survivors."
Flaring lines for brakes and fuel systems can be a pain, and properly sealing double flared fittings are essential for safety. Traditional clamp-style flare tools can be tricky to master, often times creating imperfect double flares forcing you to re-bend a new line. However, we'll never have a bad flare again in our shop.. this Eastwood Professional Double Flare Tool not only makes perfect double flares every time, but it's so easy to use, you could do it blindfolded. Really.
Our 1965 Chevelle project arrived in our shop with a front disc conversion, but we wanted the fade-free stopping power of 4-wheel disc brakes, so we added a rear disc brake kit from OPGI.
We reassembled our restored front suspension with some new tricks to make our 1969 Pontiac Firebird "Routy" drive and handle better. First we replaced all the stock worn-out control arm bushings with some new Global West Del-A-Lum bushings for minimal deflection and smooth articulation. Then we replaced all the loose steering components with new parts from Classic Industries, including a new steering box, tie rod ends, center link, ball joints, idler arm, and pittman arm. Once we could put the wheels back on, we rolled the subframe under the body, aligned it, and bolted it up. Out back, we added some Del-A-Lum bushings to the Detroit Speed & Engineering 3" drop leaf springs and put the rear axle assembly back in the car. Classic Industries had more hard-to-find nuts and clips for the front leaf spring mounts. Now we can hang all the sheetmetal back on the car and start the panel alignment!
