Classic Game Room reviews THE POINTMASTER joystick controller for the Atari 2600 video game console system. The Atari 2600 VCS was a very popular game system since its release in 1977 and had numerous 3rd party add ons and accessories created specifically for it. This joystick controller called the POINT MASTER is from Discwasher! Don't they make disc washer devices???? Well... ok. Whatever. At some flea market or garage sale back in the day I came home with a POINTMASTER and played it a few times. I tried it again recently and don't care for this controller much. It is more like a flight stick with the arcade style button on the top of the grip stick joy stick thingy. It wobbles, falls over and is fairly useless. However, it gives a great look at the amount of accessories and peripherals that were created specifically for the Atari 2600 back in the day, even in the 1980's! Watch Classic Game Room for more controller and video game hardware reviews from Atari, Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Sega and Magnavox!!!

Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of FROGGER for Xbox Live Arcade XBLA. Frogger is the iconic 1980's arcade classic video game hit from the old school arcades. Originally created by Konami in Japan and licensed by Stern for the Arcades, Sega and Parker Brothers helped to bring Frogger home to your Atari VCS video computer system! There were cheap plastic portable versions of Frogger, a cartoon show and all kinds of merchandise. Frogger is dope! You guide a huge, monster frog (like Godzilla or Mothra sized) across four lanes of traffic and then over a crowded, polluted river full of alligators, logs and sea otters who want to kill you. Dodge snakes, 18 wheeler semis, cars, tractors and disappearing turtles as you make your way to one of five spots on top of the screen to earn a high score. This is a great version of frogger and one that only costs a few Microsoft Credits. Earn achievement points and have a good time playing FROGGER!!!!!!! Paddle your opponents in games like Warlords, Street Racer, Slot Racers, Video Olympics, Night Driver and Circus Atari. There are dozens of old school Atari games that use the paddle controllers so find yourself a pair of them and play a friend today. They come in any color you want, as long as it's black. Classic Game Room reviews the standard, single button, single joystick ATARI 2600 controller. This is the iconic controller that so many of us grew up with back in the 70's and 80's. These came with the Atari 2600 VCS video computer system over here in the United States of America. Durable, cheap and plentiful, you should have no problem finding one of these for sale extremely cheap. Works well with games like Mario Bros. Brothers on the Atari, Donkey Kong, Yars' Revenge, Frogger, Vanguard and Pac Man. You ain't cool unless you have one of these controllers. Nothing says I'm into old school retro awesome classic video games like breaking one of these things out at a party. You can even mix a cocktail with it.

Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of 1942 JOINT STRIKE for the Xbox 360 Live Arcade released on Wednesday July 23, 2008. Do you remember 1942 from 1984? The original Capcom WW2 era vertical scrolling shooter is back with 1942 Joint Strike on the XBLA. This review covers the gameplay, the graphics and sound and shows of the game's use of 3D 3-dimentional backgrounds in a 2D shooting game. This is a SHMUP (shoot 'em up) much like Ikaruga or Radiant Silvergun, some of the best SHMUPS ever made. Pilot your WWII era fighter plane against wave after wave of enemy bombers, mine layers and other fighter planes. Shoot them down with an arsenal of cool weapons like the spread shot and laser beam. Collect power ups, play with a friend and have a great time. It's great to see companies like Capcom releasing games on the 360 and on the Sony PlayStation Network for the PS3. I played 1943 on the NES Nintendo right before recording this review so I was down with the 194x if you know what I mean. A maniac shooter from a past that doesn't exist. You can get Gamer Points too. Hooray. I think this is also on the PlayStation Network and not sure if they'll use it for Home or not. Not sure if it is on VC Virtual Console on Wii either. Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of YARS' REVENGE for the Atari 2600 VCS video game console system! This is the best selling original title on the wood grained classic video game masterpiece and rightly so, revenge has never had it so good. This 2600 cartridge came with an awesome comic book called the Qotile Ultimatum and you played as a crazy insect called a Yar which flies around space and shoots laser beams and stuff. Yar's Revenge is a true classic retro arcade style old school video game from 1981 that never gets old and hasn't aged a day. This is priceless video gaming for those of us who grew up with Atari and should be exciting for new gamers today used to the next gen systems. Yars Revenge has incredible gameplay and the footage shows this. It is fun, entertaining and above all terribly addictive. Shoot the Zorlon cannon at the Qotile! CGRHD takes a somewhat more serious look at this cartridge that should be in every Atari collector's possession. The ultimate space action mutant insect warfare shooter game. This would be really great if they released it again on the PS3 or Xbox Live Arcade XBLA consoles with updated 2D graphics (not 3D). I still think Yars' Revenge would make a great movie or anime. Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of TOWERING INFERNO by US Games for the Atari 2600 VCS video computer system. The 1970's were a great time for disaster movies like Earthquake, Poseidon Adventure, The Swarm, Airport and The Towering Inferno. This game lets you live out the dream of being the hero in a 70's action film by playing as a fireman (played by Steve McQueen in the movie) and saving innocent civilians in a burning skyscraper. Towering inferno was released in the early 80's and is an excellent arcade style retrol old school game on the Atari 2600 console. The gameplay is fast and enjoyable, required skill and a bit of chance. It has flames and helicopters and 9 buildings to save people from. CGRHD highly recommends Towering Inferno! The 1974 movie starring Steve McQueen, Paul Newman and Robert Vaughn, Fred Astaire and Robert Wagner was awesome too. The designers of modern movie themed games and ports on the PS3 and Xbox 360 can learn a lot from TI, because this game is dope. It ain't Backdraft, this is TOWERING INFERNO!!! It burns with aweseomeness! Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of the PLAYSTATION 2 PS2 VS. ATARI 2600 video computer system VCS. CGRHD takes a close look at the new PS2 Slim model compared to the smaller Atari 2600 Jr. The 2600 Junior (as it was known) was released in 1986 to a public hot for the NES, sadly it never received the recognition that it deserved. So which is better? In this versus console battle to the death these two juggernauts from different video gaming eras compete for the world championship of great video game consoles... right. What is incredible is that in the history of video games, the Atari 2600 was a landmark system that debuted in 1977. The PS2 was released to North America in October of 2000. Both were expensive when they came out, were huge and bulky and had only a few games available. But over time they developed a huge fan following that enjoyed their gameplay and graphics, and had literally thousands of games released for each system. Both the 2600 and Playstation 2 had smaller, more compact models released and both are more affordable today for collectors. Sadly there is no wood grained heavy sixer PS2. Check out all the Classic Game Room reviews for awesome arcade retro old school games vs. the newest brand new video games on the market for PS3 and Xbox 360. Classic Game Room season 1. July 28, 2000. Review of YARS' REVENGE for the Atari 2600 Video Computer System. This is a classic on the VCS console, this is Yar's Revenge. You pilot Yars around in space and fight the evil, deceptive and ill tempered Quitile. Can you destroy the Zorlon cannon before it destroys you? Hide in the neutral zone, dodge the curser of doom and kick ass at this amazing retro old school classic arcade style video game. The gameplay is rock solid, the storyline is fantastic and the footage of this game will make you want to run out and add this Atari cartridge to your collection. Will we ever see an Atari movie about Yars' Revenge? It would be the best science fiction movie ever made and should be an upcoming film with a great trailer due to be released sometime in the near future. Assuming it was made well of course. Yars' Revenge is a classic and you should own it, period. Will there ever be a remake of this game? Will it be remade in HDTV graphics for Xbox Live Arcade on the 360 XBLA? Will Yars' Revenge come out on the PS2 Playstation 3 console? How about the Wii or Wii Fit, you could run around on the Wii Fit as a Yar vs. the Quotile. We know this game was on the Color Gameboy but we'd rather have it on a next gen system. Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Classic Game Room marked the return of the series in 2008. The original Classic Game Room reviewed Atari, NES, Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Dreamcast and Playstation... too bad they didn't get to Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 or Wii. Now Classic Game Room is covering the new systems.

Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of ACTIONAUTS for the Atari 2600 VCS video game system. The Atari was released in 1977, Actionauts was released in 2008 by its designer and programmer, Rob Fulop. In fact it is technically called Rob Fulop's Actionauts. The goal of the game is to guide a robot through various mazes to find a block of cheese! Sounds cheesy, hooray! It is fantastic to see a brand new game released on the Atari (even if it was designed in 1984) and come in such a nice box with great artwork. This is an extremely limited edition game and mine is # 191 out of 250 sold to the general public (shmucks like us!) For the Atari technical crowd out there, this game was played on the Atari 7800 Prosystem for the review and captured on good-old school VHS. Actionauts will be hard to find but for those of you who like old fashioned old school retro arcade style gaming this review should demonstrate an awesome soon to be classic video game that you may enjoy. Rob Fulop also programmed and designed other games that we've reviewed here including Demon Attack (one of the first HD series reviews), Cosmic Ark, Night Driver and Missile Command. Rob Fulop also designed the popular Sewer Shark available on the Sega CD. Will we ever see Actionauts on the PS3 or Xbox 360? If we do I want the Actionaut robot to be much larger and have laser beams. Is that too much to ask? Great job to all who made this game and packaging! Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of TUNNEL RUNNER for Atari 2600 VCS. Tunnel Runner is an amazing first person shooter style game without the guns... years before Doom, Castle Wolfenstein and Quake. From CBS Electronics this is a rare cartridge with RAM PLUS. In the fps style you run through mazes in search of a way out... is there a way out like in THX 1138??? Who can say, maybe you need to collect and play this classic arcade video game which is an amazing example of old school retro awesomeness. Run from the zots, collect keys and duck into transporters. Tunner Runner is worth collecting for your Atari 2600 video computer system console collection. Are you a retro gamer, into classic gaming? Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of COMBAT the Arcade Game Pen. Combat was one of the most popular and best games on the Atari 2600 video computer system. How does this new writing tool compare to the original, can this PEN beat the ATARI CARTRIDGE? Combat on the Atari VCS system was a great game for two player competitive mayhem. You could play as tanks, airplanes and jets and drive around the playing field and shoot at each other. Like a fps or first person shooter today, Combat was a great multiplayer head to head action game. Now you can experience the one player gameplay on your very own pen. The perfect stocking stuffer gift for those nerds in your life who love classics retro old school arcade video gaming. Write a letter, pay a bill, play Combat. Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of SHARK ATTACK for the Atari 2600 VCS Video Game Console. Dodge angry sharks and the Loch-Ness monster in this exciting video game from the 80's. This retro arcade old school classic features a Pac Man style maze with the terror of Jaws. Great White sharks lunch at you from the corners of the screen while the Lochness Monster (from Scotland) tries to eat you. With the exciting news of a movie being made about the foudner of Atari, it is fun to play these games from back in the day and revel in their simple yet enjoyable gameplay. Shark Attack was made by Apollo for the Atari 2600.

Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of BOXING for the Atari 2600 VCS video game console system. Boxing was released in 1980 for the Atari by Activision. This is a one or two player game of sports combat, aka Boxing. This is a fun game and hails from the day when Rocky ruled the theater and Arcades ruled the malls. Boxing plays like a retro arcade classic today with simple yet effective gameplay. You knock out your opponent by scoring 100 points to earn a KO. This game came out years before the famous Mike Tyson's Punchout and was loved by a generation of Atari vide game fanatics in the early 80's who lived and breathed the old school sports titles. This is sort of the grandfather to the fighting games like Street Fighter and Marvel vs. Capcom. I wouldn't count on seing a remake for the PS3, Wii or Xbox 360 any time soon (although the Wii has its own boxing game)

Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of MOON PATROL for the Atari 2600 VCS video game console system. Moon Patrol is a classic arcade hit from the 1980's and a fantastic retro video game. This game is very unique and combines SHMUP elements with a horizontal side scroller, science fiction action adventure game and a vertical shooter like Space Invaders. Drive your moon buggy across the lunar surface and dodge craters, boulders, enemy space ships and tanks. Moon Patrol is awesome in every way, catch MOONPATROLFEVER baby! Why is this game not being remade into a new game with great gameplay on the Xbox 360 Live Arcade XBLA, Playstation 3 PS3 or Wii?

Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room HD breaks out a review of SPIDER-MAN for the Atari 2600 video game console VCS. Do you remember the Spiderman comic books from back in the day? Did you watch the Spider Man and His Amazing Friends TV show where he was friends with Iceman and Firestar? Did you like the first Spiderman movie but not the other two? Well, SPIDERMAN the video game is FOR YOU! This game is a lot of fun and a rare cartridge for you Atari 2600 collectors out there to find in mint condition. You play as Spidey, everyone's favorite web slinger, and climb up the sides of buildings to defeat bad guys and disarm bombs. Watch out for the Green Goblin! Venom does not make an appearance in this game. Although there have been other SPIDERMAN video games and maybe even some for the Playstation 3, PS3, Xbox 360, PS2 and Wii, this game could be the best because of its simplicity and fun gameplay. Be the Amazing Spider Man from Marvel Comics, be the owner of this classic arcade style old school retro video game.
