The waiting game is over for Apple’s much-anticipated tablet. Yesterday in San Francisco, Apple CEO Steve Jobs revealed the new device called the iPad. The iPad looks a lot like the iPhone, only larger. Jobs said, “Using this thing is remarkable. It’s so much more intimate than a laptop, and it’s so much more capable than a smartphone.” Notable features of the new tablet include: - Dimensions: 0.5-inches thick, weighs 1.5 pounds, and 9.7-inch display - Powered by Apple’s A4 processor - 10-hours battery life; One month on standby - 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB of Flash memory storage - Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled - Built-in speaker and microphone - Digital compass - App Store application included Some models of the iPad will have 3G. Apple and AT&T are offering two data plans without contracts. The first includes 250MB of data per month for $14.99, and the second includes unlimited data usage for $29.99 per month. These 3G versions will range in price from $629-$829, and those without 3G will start at $499 and go up to $699, both depending on storage size. As expected, the iPad comes with an e-book reading application called iBooks. Jobs praised Amazon’s Kindle but said Apple hoped to refine that model. Despite all the hype regarding Apple’s iPad, a tablet computer is not a new concept. Jobs admitted that tablets have not done well in the past but believes Apple is up for the challenge. The company will begin shipping the iPad in 60 days and the 3G models in 90 days. Do you believe Apple’s iPad will succeed?

BY: ALLIE SPILLYARDS ANCHOR MEGAN MURPHY You're watching multisource politics news analysis from Newsy What’s the U.S. to do? Step in and help rebel fighters or stand back and let Libya take care of Libya. A writer for CNN says the U.S. has already stuck it’s toe in the water by calling for Ghaddafi to step down. Now, it needs to follow through. “Gadhafi's departure from power in other words is not just a requirement of humanity and decency. It's not only justice to the people of Libya. It is also essential to American credibility and the stability of the Middle East region.” Others say not so fast. During a Meet the Press roundtable discussion, Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson says the U.S. needs to consider if its help is even wanted. “Do you really want American boots on the ground? The rebels in Libya are not exactly excited about the idea of a kind of U.S. sponsored revolution. They’re doing this themselves. I’m not sure how that would leave America's standing if we participate to too great an extent in what they’re trying to do.” And if the U.S. does intervene, what considerations should it make? Political analysts from two competing networks say the U.S. can’t act alone. Michael O’Hanlon: “I think given the lessons of Iraq where we tried to do the right thing but paid a big price for overthrowing a dictator, we need to be careful here. I think international support is the key prerequisite to acting unless the violence just gets so much worse its a humanitarian requirement to intervene, but we’re not really at that level yet.” MARK HALPERIN: “It would be crazy to make this a U.S. operation. If it’s an international operation it takes away some of the dangers in terms of how this is viewed around the world.” All debates aside.... the questions really at the heart of the issue: why Libya? Why now? A blogger for the New American challenges U.S. interest. “If moral obligations were our reason for meddling in the lives of others, then why did we not do anything in Sudan? The West sent only relief workers to aid the afflicted and no military might to quell massacres hundreds of times greater than those that may be occurring in Libya. There was no “morality” because Sudan and its people are insignificant to the West — that is, they have no economic importance to us.” So whether America is taking a stance in favor of humanity or protecting the oil that keeps its economy stable, politicians have some decisions to make. Congress and the White House will grapple with the options. As President Obama has said, it’s all on the table. So for now, Americans and rebel protestors will be watching for action. According to Politico, that response could be a no fly zone, a no drive zone, arming the opposition, or invasion. Now, it’s just a waiting game. BY BRANDON TWICHELL You're watching multisource U.S. news analysis from Newsy May 21, 2011 - that’s when Independent Christian ministry Family Radio Worldwide says God will judge the world - and save the believers. One such believer tells CNN what will happen on Judgment Day - and beyond it. "Once Judgment Day hits May 21, 2011, there will be a worldwide earthquake. And what’s going to happen is the dead and Christ are going to rise first, then he’s taking his people up, then October 21, 2011, there will be dead bodies all over this earth. They’re not even going to be buried.” The ministry says these events take place 7,000 years after the flood Noah built his ark to escape. A member of a similar - yet unaffiliated - group called WeCanKnow**** tells the LA Daily News - she’s heeding the warning. “I see it as an invitation to learn more, if you're interested... Think how devastating it would be to realize (following Christ's return) that May 21 is Judgment Day and no redemption is possible after May 21." But a professor tells Tampa Bay’s Fox affiliate WTVT - the Bible says man will never know the correct judgment date. “I think it’s all simply misplaced. You know, the Bible itself does not encourage anyone to calculate dates. But that’s not going to stop people. (FLASH) The people who are committed to believing that a certain date is correct, if they live through that date and it doesn’t happen, they simply regroup and recalculate.” Finally, an opinion writer for northwest Oklahoma’s Enid News says - life is too important to play the waiting game. “Life is far too brief to waste a moment worrying about it suddenly coming to an end. Why squander precious time worrying about dying when we could be using it to live? Christ didn’t tell us to sit around waiting for him. Instead he told us to love, to share, to give, to honor, to teach, to learn, to lead, to follow.” This is not the first time Family Radio Worldwide founder Harold Camping has predicted Judgment Day. According to Latin in America, Camping previously predicted it would occur in 1994. Camping maintains the 2011 date is correct this time.
