This one is for my LA Friends:
The cult comedy Family Guy has always made use of elaborate song and dance routines, so it should comes as no surprise that creator Seth MacFarlane is taking a stab at theater. On May 10th, MacFarlane will bring his aptly-titled musical review to the Ahmanson Theatre on May 10th to benefit the Center Theatre GroupÕs New Play Production Program. The show, titled, ÒFreakinÕ Sweet! An Evening of Music and ComedyÓ is being billed as a musical tour through the alphabet. Comedian Janeane Garofalo is set to open the show.
And while weÕre talking about the Left Coast, thereÕs word that Wicked, now at the Pantages theater in LA, is set to close on January 11th, 2009. But donÕt worry Californians, there will be an open-ended run at San FranciscoÕs Orpheum Theater starting later that month. You may recall that Wicked made its world premiere in San Francisco back in May of 2003.
I saved the most exciting news for the end: Pacino. Broadway. 2009.
Does it really matter what the play is? IÕll tell you, but I want you to understand that whenever this man is on stage, wherever it is, you go. You just go. He commands the stage like a prowling tiger. He owns it. He devours it. The play is Orphans by Lyle Kessler. ItÕs about Harold, a shady businessman who is kidnapped by two orphan brothers. The dramedy ensues when Harold turns things around.
Can you say tense drama?
Delicious.

Wicked Celtics presents "Those Wicked Celtics" in honor of the Boston Celtics being such a wicked team this year and how Obi Wan Kobe still can't carry an entire team. This music video is Wicked's debut. Enjoy the madness and the Celtics highlights. Shoulda put my money on those wicked celtics!
"Those Wicked Celtics" (Obi-Wan Kobe)
This is sports-inspired buttrock at its finest!
if Scott Stapp from Creed, Nickelback, James Hetfield from Metallica and Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam were huge Boston Celtics superfans as a result of the 2008 NBA FINALS, their song would probably sound just like this... but less awesome.
Lyrics:
What's up with these Laker dudes
How'd they even get this far
Where did it all go wrong?
Obi Wan Kobe can only do so much
NBA MVP
Can't carry an entire team
No, no, no, not even close
Shoulda put my money on those wicked Celtics
Shoulda put my money on that Kevin Garnnet
Shoulda put my money on the luck of the Irish
These Finals are the best I've ever seen
And isn't it the darndest thing
That the winning team is green
Solo, a singing so-so-solo!
Yeah, yeah, yeah
