I’m Amy Paffrath for BSW channel**** bringing you the freshest Hollywood gossip.
Last nights Oscar ceremony brought all of Hollywood out for the celebration. The writers strike threatened to put a stop to Films biggest night, but just last week the show got the green light and everyone was happy. The ladies of the evening looked radiant in red, while the men, surprise! Wore tuxes. Must be so boring to be a boy. Best Actor winner Daniel Day Lewis also got the red red carpet memo, this man cleans up real nice. But the film that swept the awards was the Cohen Brothers western romp No country for old me. It was awarded statues for Best picture, best direction and best supporting actor Javier Bardem. Marian Cotiard nabbed the Best Actress award for her work in La Vien Rose, a film more people might actually check out now that she’s won every award for the role!
Across town at the Indie spirit awards Angelina Jolie showed up sporting a tell tale baby bump. Though she still hasn’t officially come out and admitted it, it looks she is indeed carrying yet another genetically perfect creature. Jolie was up for best actress in A Mighty heart, but nothing could stop the teen pregnancy comedy June. The flick got top honors at the Indie awards grabbing best actress for Ellen Page and best screenplay for stripper turned writer Diablo Cody.
There were enough awards to go around this weekend and Lindsay Loan was not left out. Finally getting the recognition she deserves, LiLO was named Worst Actress for her box office dud I Know Who Killed Me. She actually won the Razzie twice, she played dual roles in I know who killed me and she played them equally horribly. The Golden Rasperberrry awards a given out each year on Oscar weekend. While Lohan definately made a clean sweep with 8 wins, Eddie Murphy followed close behind with 3 wins for Norbit.
She might not have shiny new award to polish, but Oscar weekend proved to be a good one for Britney Spears. She finally got to have a face to face visit with her sons. Something she hasn’t been able to do since Jan 3. The visit took place a Spears Beverly Hills mansion and lasted only 3 fully supervised hours. IT might have been short lived but Brit will have to take baby steps when it comes to making contact with her babies. IT was reportedly Jamie spears Brit’s dad who is responsible for making the visit happen. It is not known when little Sean Preston and Jayden James will see mommy again. Maybe if she listens to her papa it will be sooner than later.

The Razzies are back celebrating Tinseltown’s worst films. Topping the list -- sparkly vampires and buff werewolves. London’s Telegraph has the bucketfull of lemons.
“But the real dark horse of the award this year, and a joint leader with a whopping 9 nominations is ‘Twilight Eclipse’. A favorite with the fans but a baffling bore for many others.”
“Worst picture, worst actress, and not one but two worst actors, for both Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson. We know - it hurts too much to even say it.” (Splash News)
Kristen Stewart gets a notorious nod as well. Green Celebrity chalks the actresses’ nomination up to envy.
“They were jealous that Kristen Stewart gets to make out with two very handsome young men.”
and advised “The totally peeved star celebs from Twilight should ALL give the collective finger to the people who nominated her.”
Think the Razzies are too tough on Twilight? Razzie’s founder speaks on behalf of those who are not ‘Twi-hards’ in SkyNews. He says - “We just don’t get it.”
“The other one that we are going to get a lot of angry e-mails about: Twilight Sage Eclipse, which is the third film in the series about the teenage girl that has to choose between a werewolf and a vampire as her boyfriend in high school. You know people with that dilemma don’t you”
The roster of critics who’s collective vote leads to Razzie snubs -- consists of roughly 600 public voters. One judge saying...
“[Twilight] is nominated in all categories with the exception of Worst Supporting Actress and Worst Eye-Gouging Mis-Use of 3-D, which it was not eligible for.” (NewsLite)
But ‘Twi-hard’ fans point out, these judges have to pony up -- just to pan the flick. The haters don’t seem to realize -- there’s no such thing as bad pub.
“[The nomination] will bring more publicity ... people are curious about just what makes a movie horrible.”
“If you go to vote on the Razzie’s site, you must become a member which will cost you at minimum $35. Twilight is an easy target to get the hits the Razzies need.”
All that aside, an anchor from Clevver TV asks, “Is Eclipse really that bad?”
“A ton of twi-fans have said over and over again that Eclipse was their favorite flick in the series so far. Even the haters say that. Does Eclipse really deserve to be named the worst movie of 2010? “
Razzie winners will be announced on February 26 - the day before the Oscars. So, should the sun set on the Twilight series? Or, is it only getting better after such dark reviews?

“And the Razzie goes to...” all in Hollywood tremble in fear of hearing their name. The Annual Golden Raspberry Awards honor the worst of the year’s movies. The nights big winner, er...loser.... M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘The Last Airbender.’
The movie took home Razzies in Worst Picture, Worst Supporting Actor, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay and a new category Worst Eye-Gouging Mis-Use of 3-D.
Chick flick ‘Sex and the City 2’ wasn’t far behind- taking home three Razzies. The gal pals collectively won Worst Actress along with Worst Ensemble and Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel. (Video: New York 1)
Here’s reaction from a blogger for The Stir.
“The whole bunch... collectively took Worst Actress. Which means they each only got one-fourth of a diss? … Fine, but I liked it anyway.”
But Razzie founder John Wilson tells Unreality Shout- the femme flick was over-the-top in a down-and-out economy.
"It was released in the middle of a period of American history when everyone's scrounging not to lose their homes. And these women are riding around in Rolls-Royces, buying expensive shoes and just throwing money around like they're drunk."
Hollywood hunk and twitter king Ashton Kutcher also received recognition for his performances in ‘Killers’ and 'Valentine’s Day.’ The ladies at WFAA in Dallas say- not-so-shocking.
“What good movie has Ashton Kutcher been in? Let’s just be real.”
“I thought Valentine’s Day was kinda cute.”
“Okay well you’re being very nice.”
But the evening isn’t all about the winners and losers. Entertainment Weekly says the 31-year tradition is about lightening up.
“Given its tradition of embracing the best of the worst, the event’s self-aware kitsch is not only appropriate, it’s incredibly endearing.”
And a blogger for Westword says- cheer up Razzie winners. Even if the movie sucked, that doesn’t mean it didn’t rake in the dough.
“The average domestic box office for a Best Picture nominee? $130.9 million … The average domestic box office for a Worst Picture nominee? $126.3 million … We find this surprising -- We actually thought the Worst Picture movies would have done better at the box office, under the assumption that the people making them had expressly shot for mass appeal at the expense of quality.”
None of this year’s Razzie winners actually showed up to claim their prizes- but in 2010- Sandra Bullock famously came to accept her Worst Actress award for All About Steve...only to win an Oscar for Best Actress the next night for her performance in The Blind Side.
