Anna and the Apocalypse is a 2017 Christmas zombie musical film directed by John McPhail and with a screenplay by Alan McDonald and Ryan McHenry based on McHenry's 2010 BAFTA-winning short Zombie Musical. The film premiered at Fantastic Fest on September 22, 2017. Orion Pictures released the film in the United States on 30 November 2018.
A zombie apocalypse threatens the sleepy town of Little Haven – at Christmas – forcing Anna and her friends to fight, slash and sing their way to survival, facing the undead in a desperate race to reach their loved ones. But they soon discover that no one is safe in this new world, and with civilization falling apart around them, the only people they can truly rely on are each other.
Anna and the Apocalypse had its world premiere in the Fantastic Fest on September 22, 2017. On October 5, 2017 the film had its European Premiere at Sitges Film Festival in Catalonia, Spain. On 10 January 2018, the film was picked up for North American and Latin American theatrical distribution by Orion Pictures, with plans to release it for the 2018 holiday season. The film was released in the United States on 30 November 2018 in limited release, with a nationwide expansion on 7 December.
