When it come...
When it comes to heating your home in the winter, you want to use the most energy efficient option available to you. While there are a large percentage of homes that use a Forced Air Furnace to heat their homes, if it was made before 1992 it is probably a low efficient model. That is because the Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) ratings were not assigned until 1992 and before then forced air furnaces were not really regulated. However, modern forced air furnaces must meet a AFUE rating of 78% or higher in order for them to be sold. Higher rated units are considered to be higher efficiency models and can save you up to 30% of your heating costs each year.
