*******uselectionnews**** A recent bit of confusion over where exactly the Revolutionary War started has caused a flurry of jokes over Minnesota Representative Michele Bachmann and her aspirations involving a possible Presidential bid in 2012. Bachmann confused the start of the Revolutionary War, the location of the “shot heard around the world” , as being located in New Hampshire during a speech in the Granite State, when in fact it was located several miles to the south in Concord. She immediately apologized for the mistake via a post on Facebook, but some hours later, as news of the gaffe began to spread, Bachmann went on the offensive, noting that the President has made mistakes in his speeches before, and even referring to the White House teleprompter in her criticism of the media and their frenzy over the comment. Bachmann was the butt of jokes at a later New Hampshire event that featured former House Speaker and likely 2012 Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich, who also poked fun at himself for the sloppy beginning to his exploratory status in the Presidential election season.
